For the past 15 years, this historic venue in Agoura, Southern California, has been more than just a location for capturing wedding memories; it's been a cherished part of our journey as wedding photographers, where we photographed our very first wedding.
As you approach The Lodge, you're enveloped in a sense of tranquility, shaded by ancient sycamore and oak trees, and greeted by the serene waters of Malibou Lake. It's a step back in time from the hustle and bustle of modern life, offering couples a serene and enchanting setting for their special day.
The Lodge at Malibou Lake holds a rich history dating back to 1936 when it was built by the members of the Malibou Lake Mountain Club. Over the past 80 years, it has been the heart of a private lakeside community, hosting weddings, meetings, dances, and parties of all kinds. Today, it continues to serve as a venue where love stories unfold against the backdrop of its storied past.
What sets The Lodge apart is its seamless blend of rustic charm and refined elegance. The Ballroom, with its soaring ceilings and warm ambiance, provides an intimate setting for ceremonies and receptions, accommodating up to 180 guests. For those who prefer an outdoor celebration, the expansive Great Lawn offers panoramic views of Malibou Lake, creating a breathtaking backdrop for exchanging vows under the open sky.
One of the many reasons we have enjoyed shooting weddings at The Lodge for the past 15 years is its exclusivity and attention to detail. With only one event booked per day, couples have exclusive use of all facilities, including the Ballroom, Great Lawn, Front Porch, Library Bar, and private dressing rooms. This ensures that every couple receives the undivided attention and personalized service they deserve on their special day.
